I found a great site for my Palm yesterday. I was puttering around, looking for stuff in general, hoping to maybe find a basic spreadsheet program, when I stumbled into MemoWare - a repository of literature and reference documents formatted for Palm readers... And they provided links to a bunch of readers, which I've been looking to find for a while now. (I downloaded and played with several. For freeware, I recommend CSpotRun for getting the most features into the smallest memory.)
So right now I'm re-reading Brave New World, and when I'm done, I've got A Christmas Carol, Anna Karenina, and several others. The novels take up a lot of space, so I can't really store more than three or so at a time, but that's all right; I can stash them on my hard drive at home when I'm not reading them. Okay, it's a really geeky thing to be excited about, but I'm a sortof geeky person. And if I can combine geekiness with books, so much the better! ![]() One of those weeks, I guess. Monday I left the office early so I could take my car to get an estimate on fixing it. Today I'm leaving the office early for a job interview. Tomorrow I'm meeting a bunch of people for lunch to celebrate Braz's new job with 3GI, and leaving the office early for a doctor's appointment. Guess I'll be working late Friday... ![]() I'm sorry my entries have been so short recently, but my time and thoughts have been pretty well filled with two things: 1) The Brandt's move to Williamsburg, and 2) today's job interview and its ramifications. The first would probably be pretty tedious for those of my readers who aren't directly involved, and the second I'm trying to keep to myself until I've actually made a decision. It makes for short journal entries. If you like, you can go see the new pictures from my brother's wedding that I posted. My uncle Bill sent them a few days ago. They're only half-sized, but that's how he sent them. And when you look at the date that his camera automatically puts in the corner of the pictures, subtract a day - his camera was still on Thailand time. I wound up having to throw out about half of the pictures from the rehearsal dinner because some light refraction thing was making people look like they had a bizarre skin disease. Which is too bad, because the picture of Matt and I was really very nice if you could discount the streaks on my face. ![]() Word of the Day: comity - friendly civility; courtesy (usually political or judicial) I haven't been getting to sleep especially late this week or anything, but for some reason, it's been even harder than usual to drag myself out of bed in the mornings for the past couple of days. The bed has been comfortable, the pillow has been soft, the dreams have been good... But I have to get up, take a shower, make lunch, and drag myself to the office, yawning constantly. I think, in the interest of general comity, I'd better have a cup of coffee or two and try to get to bed early tonight. |
