My friend Mila sent me one of those e-mail surveys, and I figure it's been at least a year since I did one last. So if you hate those e-mail survey things, go ahead and skip reading this entry. Those of you who know how to have fun, continue on!
![]() What time is it? 10:53 am Name as it appears on your birth certificate: Elizabeth Carol Luck Current full legal name: Elizabeth Luck Brooks Nicknames: Liz Parent's names: E. Chester Luck (Chet) & Alma W. Luck How many candles on your last birthday cake? 28 Date that you regularly blow them out: November 9 Pets: Diamond, also known as Spud or Demon Cat. Height: 5' 4" Eye Color: Grey Hair Color: Brown Piercing: Ears, 1 hole per ear Tattoos: No, but every now and then I think about getting one. I usually satisfy the desire by wearing temporary tattoos for a month or so. How much do you love your job: On a scale of 1 to 10, the actual profession is about 6; the workplace is about 5; my peers are around 8; my superiors are about 4. Birthplace: Hampton, VA Hometown: Yorktown, VA Residence: Williamsburg, VA Been in love before? Am still in love now, even. Sheesh. Been to Africa? No Been toilet-papering? No Been drunk? Yes Been toilet-papered? No. But see how cleverly the survey-writer slipped the "drunk" question between the two toilet-papering questions? What is this obsession with toilet-papering, anyway? Loved somebody so much it made you cry? They might as well just have asked "Been through puberty?" Been in a car crash? Just last week, even. Croutons or Bacon Bits: Bacon bits, but only if they're real crumbled bacon and not that crap in a bottle. If all you have is that bottled crap, then all I can say is, the croutons had better not be stale, or I'm never coming back to this restaurant. 2 doors or 4 (on a car): Two looks better, four is more convenient. The current car has two. The next car will probably have four. Sprite or 7 Up: 7-Up, but it's pretty academic, since what I mostly drink is Diet Dr. Pepper, or Diet Northern Neck ginger-ale. Coffee or Coffee Ice Cream: Depends. With breakfast, coffee. After dinner, coffee ice cream. Blanket or Stuffed Animal: My childhood bedtime comfort item was a blanket. (My adult bedtime comfort item would be my husband. And get your filthy mind out of the gutter.) As a toy, stuffed animals. As a present, stuffed animals. For sleeping with, blanket. Dumper or Dumpee: Dumper, unless you count that long-distance relationship I had in high school where I got dumped by virtue of the guy never writing back. Salad Dressing: Ranch or Thousand Island, unless I'm eating Italian or on a diet, in which case Italian. Color of socks: Right now? I haven't even had my shower yet! C'mon, it's Saturday! Favorite Number: 27 Why? Because it's thrice three, three times. (Well, you asked.) Place to be kissed: By my husband - that spot on my neck, or else on the lips. Anyone else - on the cheek. Movie: The Princess Bride Quote from the movie: "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." Also, "As you wish." Also, "Get some rest. If you haven't got your health, you haven't got anything." Okay, okay, I can do the whole movie. I'll stop now. Favorite Holiday: Midwinter (or Christmas, or whatever you prefer to call it.) Foods: You want me to narrow it down? Vegetables - corn and tomatoes; fruits - tart apples and raspberries; meats - rare steak and bacon; snacks - chips and popcorn; desserts - ice cream and cheesecake. I could go on, but I'm just making myself hungry. Day of the Week: Saturday Song of the moment: Bare Naked Ladies, "Box Set" TV show: HBO's Sex and the City Word or Phrase: "Love you, too!" (Used either sarcastically in response to friendly jibes, or sincerely to the husband.) Toothpaste: Damned if I know. I don't open my eyes that wide in the morning. Restaurant: For casual dining - Second Street Tavern; for celebrations - Outback; for romantic evenings - The Peddler Flower: I like any flowers that aren't orange. At the moment, I'm obsessed with chicory flowers. Least favorite subject: My least favorite school subject was History. My current least favorite subject of conversation (since I've been out of school for years and can appreciate history now that I won't be asked to memorize names and dates) is politics. Alcoholic drink: Tom Collins, Bloody Mary, or a screwdriver, depending on my mood. Sport to watch: Basketball, if I have to watch a sport. Type of ice: Frozen. (What the heck is this question about? How many types of ice are there? Zoo exhibit: I haven't been to a zoo in something like fifteen years. I like the big cats, though. Sesame Street Character: Kermit Disney/Warner Bros.: This is like asking "movie or T.V." It's absurd. I like most of the newer Disney stuff, and the older Warner Bros. stuff. Fast food restaurant: McDonald's or Burger King. Whatever. It's all pretty much the same. When was your last hospital visit? In April, I went to the emergency room for something that never was properly diagnosed. Favorite non-alcoholic drink: Iced tea What color is your bedroom carpet? Grey What was the name of your childhood blanket? Blankets don't need names, silly. They just are. How many times did you fail your permit and or drivers license? None. Our DMV was pretty slack. What do you think of Ouija boards? They're pretty absurdly fake. Where do you see yourself in ten years: No clue, actually. Probably still in Williamsburg, but I have no idea what I'll be doing. Have you ever been convicted of a crime: Only if you count minor traffic violations. What do you do most often when you are bored? Read and/or eat. What Religion do you consider yourself to be? I'm working on that, still. My personal spiritual philosophy would take too long to explain here and would probably bore everyone silly. Its primary elements come from Taoism, Wicca, and Christianity. (Yes, I know that's very weird. I told you I'm still working on it.) Name the person that you are friends with that lives the furthest away: My brother and his wife live in Montana. Best thing: The best thing? In the whole world? Wow, you're sure asking a lot, here. Friendship, I guess. Bedtime: Sometime between 9 and 11, depending on what's going on and how tired I am. Later on Fridays and Saturdays, of course. Who will respond to this first: Probably no-one will. I'm posting it, not e-mailing it. Though maybe if I get a wild hair I'll write a response-form. Not that anyone would actually use it. Person least likely to respond: Matt, who really hates these things. What time is it now? 11:38am |
