So tomorrow evening, as birthday presents to the both of us, my parents are taking us to see Fiddler on the Roof, which is playing in Norfolk. I've never seen it, so I'm a little excited.
Or at least, I was excited until I heard the news on the radio this morning about the rat. Apparently a rat got into the theater and caused a ruckus during intermission. I was going to wear a dress, but maybe I'll wear pants instead... ![]() Matt and I decided last night that we're going to his dad's wedding. It sounds like it should be a no-brainer, but we didn't get a lot of notice, we were just there in July, neither of us have a lot of vacation time saved up, there are a couple of events we'll be missing locally to go, and it affects when I schedule the surgery for my foot. Lots of things to consider. But we're going. It means I'm going to have to rethink some things about my Christmas planning, but since the planning hadn't gotten very far yet, I'm not too upset about it. We're more upset about the fact that the ticket prices have jumped up by at least $100 since we first got the invitation, and (as I'm finding this morning) the only flights I can get that aren't AirTran involve at least two connections each way and a change of airlines in the middle, which is never a good idea. We'll see what happens. ![]() My officemate Random spent a lot of time yesterday playing with this website, which allows you to distort photos of the two presidential hopefuls. He managed to make Gore look like Jack Nicholson, Ronald Reagan, a Kennedy (they all look sortof the same anyway), and a wolfman. He just made Bush look silly, molding him into an alien, an elf, and giving him stupid(er) faces. It was sortof fun. And yet, spooky. ![]() I'm sorry this is so short, but really, I'm feeling entirely too distracted to write much, and the things that are distracting me you wouldn't find very interesting. Thanksgiving dinner, plane tickets, Christmas decoration plans, projects at work, projects at home, Matt's birthday... Lots of distractions, none of which are really interesting enough or mentally consuming enough to write about. And Internet Exploder just foundered while I was trying to reserve tickets at Travelocity. Argh. I'll talk to you guys later. ![]() Word of the Day: founder - to make or become lame; fail; sink; collapse |
