Last year: So I'm limping a bit today, but feeling quite satisfied with my weekend so far.
Long weekend summary: Dinner with the Brandts on Friday. AD&D game Saturday. Lunch with the Brandts Sunday, then clothes shopping with Kris while the boys went to see Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Day of laziness Monday. Ta-da! Now you know probably everything you wanted to know about my weekend.
I found a new store for fat-lady clothes while Kris and I were shopping. I don't remember what it's called; what I remember is where it's located: right next door to the Motherhood maternity clothes outlet in Williamsburg's most annoying parking lot. I went in there to take a breather from the overwhelming heat in the maternity clothes store. I almost spent about $250, but managed to restrain myself to two items for about $50. Pretty reasonable for women's clothing, especially fat-lady clothes. But I think what really won me over were the comfortable dressing rooms.
The flowers in the central mulch bed are coming up like gangbusters! There must be almost a dozen miniature irises already open, and probably eight or ten crocus buds. Though so far, exactly one crocus is not yellow. (It's pale blue, if you're wondering.) I'm curious to see how the rest of them come up. The package said they were mixed colors, but there's no way to tell just by looking at a bulb what color flower it will produce. I guess we'll see.
So far there's nothing exciting happening in the bed next to the house. Oh, there are some green shoots that promise flowers later, but that bed sees quite a bit less sun than the central bed, so I imagine it will be a couple of weeks yet before I see any daffodils or hyacinths. Still, I'm excited. I took some pictures over the weekend, but forgot to bring the disk to work with me.
Does it go without saying that I don't really want to be at work today? Of course it does. Matt has to fly to Kansas City today, so once again it was harder than usual to leave the house this morning.
And once again I'm going to be fighting with setting up a station for my project at work. Though hopefully this one will go a little smoother. We'll see. But I anticipate spending a lot of today running around looking for disks and then installing things. What fun.
Gah. I'm starving. I'm not sure why; I ate a sizeable meal last night, plus snacks. I'm not usually hungry until about 8:30 or so. But my stomach's been growling since I got in the shower this morning. Maybe it's just a hungry day.
Whatever. Sorry this is so boring today, guys. I'll try to think of something interesting and insightful to say tomorrow. (Yeah, right...) I'm gonna go have breakfast.
