Waaaa! I want my weekend back!!!

Well, really. Friday night we went over to visit K.T. and made dinner for them, since Kevin was so tired he could only concentrate on things for a minute at a time. Saturday I got sucked into doctoring a picture Karen found online so it would look more like my Meade Hall character Zoya. (It was a great picture except that the original had a wasp waist and "zero-G" boobs - my character is slender, but does still have internal organs, and she's got a rather small chest. I was quite pleased with how well my changes turned out, but playing in Photoshop sucked up hours.)

Eventually, Matt got tired of waiting for me to wrap it up on my own and dragged me out to run some errands. We walking into Lowes' for one item, and wound up walking around for nearly an hour and buying close to $100 worth of stuff. I swear, I sometimes think we pay as much to Lowes' as we do to our mortgage.

I sat up late Saturday night so I could "watch" Karen open her Pun Day package. That was a lot of fun... I love giving people presents, even if it's just silly goofy stuff.

Sunday morning I put some of our Lowes' purchases to work - we'd bought some fancy bricks to line the flowerbeds - and helped Matt with the laundry. Then, while Matt went in to work for a couple of hours, I drove down to Sam's Club, buying the three items we actually need and three or four impulse items (it's not a trip to Sam's Club without impulse buys). After that, I stopped to visit with K.T. for another couple of hours.

For those of you who are wondering (HI, K.T.'s stepmom!) she's improving, if slowly. She showed me some pictures they'd taken with her digital camera as evidence if their lawsuit actually goes to trial - her chest is covered with awful bruises and scratches. And it's heartrending to watch her try to fight the need for painkillers, though there's been some good progress in that area. Friday night, if she put off taking her drugs (every two hours) by as much as ten minutes, she was in terrible pain; by Sunday, she was able to make one pill last over three hours. Though I have to say, it's sortof funny watching her when the drugs kick in. But it makes me mad that she's in so much pain that the doctors frankly admitted she would be addicted to narcotics by the time this was all over, and decided that was the lesser evil.

Anyway, by Sunday night Kevin had moved her computer out to the living room so she could get online to distract herself, and so we wrapped up a Meade Hall plot. Just in time, too - Tyl'gania and Jelarthna are supposed to be getting married at tonight's session, and they were both away on this plot! (Isn't fantasy grand?)

And then suddenly, bam! it's Monday again. I really want my weekend back.

I want my car back, too. The rental car sucks. Aside from a mushy gas pedal, it's got this great trick it pulls about half the time where the key doesn't want to turn in the ignition. At all. And although so far I've always eventually gotten it to go, I keep wondering when it's going to stick for good. Also, when Matt and I came out of the Lowes' Saturday, a panel had popped off near the floor - so now when I drive, I have to be careful not to rest my leg against the exposed metal and wiring. Oh, and should I mention that the car still has its 30-day tags on it, and they expired yesterday???

Yep. I want my car back. Today.

At least this week won't be quite as crazy as last week. I expect this evening will be a little hectic, between (hopefully) picking up my car and dropping off the rental and going to the grocery store and the Meade Hall wedding.

Tomorrow my mom is going to come over - she's got the album from my brother's wedding last summer, and I'm looking forward to seeing those pictures.

And sometime - probably Wednesday - I need to drop off, and then pick up, the assorted prescriptions my doctor wrote for me on Friday. But that's pretty minor.

Thursday is my bi-annual (or is it semi-annual? I always confuse those two... every six months) dentist appointment.

But I don't have a single thing planned for Friday! Practically a vacation week!
