What do you say when there's nothing to say?
How do you fill up the spaces?
How do you keep the doldrums at bay,
And sympathy from peoples' faces?
How do you feel when there's nothing to feel
At the end of all of your plans?
How do you convince yourself you're really real,
And what do you do with your hands?
Where do you go when there's nowhere to go?
What one place can bring you back true?
How do you open your heart up and show
All of the truth that is you?
Who do you hold when there's no one to hold?
A lover, or is it a friend?
Who do you imagine as you age and grow old
Will be with you right to the end?
Doesn't mean anything. I'm not feeling down or upset or grey or anything like that. I'm even in a relatively good mood, considering I have to be at work. I just don't have much I want to say today. So I started with What do you say when there's nothing to say? and the rest just sortof popped out.
Consider it a gift for you, this morning: A bit of doggerel to brighten your day. Or not.
