Today is my brother's birthday! Happy birthday, John! (He's 27 today, which just happens to be my favorite number!)
Yesterday's headache faded finally around nine in the morning, and I had an almost astonishingly productive day. I took a break around noon to answer e-mail while I ate lunch, then plunged right back into things and wound up wrapping up everything I'd planned to do around 3:30 - wonderful timing!
The headache doesn't look like it's going to come back, but I've been feeling a little tense and pinched in the general stomach area, so I'm fretting about heartburn again. I took a Prevacid this morning, so I hope that takes care of the problem. (It had better. I've been Burp Woman all morning, and I hope it's not for nought.)
A story (well, more like a scene) took over my brain as I was driving home, so when I got home, I started writing. I spent most of the evening working on it, off and on. My muse deserted me just as I was reaching the most difficult bit, though, so I don't know if it will ever see the light of day. We'll see - I'm hoping to finish it today, since I got to sleep on it last night.
If not that one, then I'd like to work on another scene that I started over the weekend and lost the sense of right away - if for no other reason than that scene would be an excellent writing exercise. The scene in my mind was intensely visual, better drawn that written perhaps. But my drawing skills aren't up to that task just yet, and there's a challenge in getting it to come out in words.
Maybe tonight, I'll stay offline so I don't have any distractions, put my headphones on, and force it out.
Just for the record, I'd like to state that home-grown tomato bits go quite well on home-made pizza. Thank you.
Right. It's time to go see if I can get into "the zone" as easily today as I did yesterday.
