Last year: "The only reason to go to church is so you can go out for lunch afterwards!"
Hall weddings are fun. But hectic.
Last night's may not even be really over. Ashby got bumped around 10:30 - and I don't think Sanriel wanted to get out of dancing so badly he wouldn't have logged back in if he could have. Colleen had her usual connection troubles around eleven. Matt and I got bumped once when the power flickered. Karen (the bride's player) got bumped around 11:30.
So we decided to sort of do a "fade"as the dancing started up, but Matt was saying this morning that several people said they'd had a few more things they wanted to do... So we may pick it back up later this week, tonight or Thursday evening.
And I'm sure that's all you really want to read about a fictional wedding. (Except for my fellow Hallers, of course - but then, they were there.) Impressively enough, I was in bed and asleep before one!
Yesterday was the most Monday-ish Monday I've had in a long time.
I spent two hours working on the database in the lab, making changes to the procedures invoked by my program - because it was easier to do that (picking up a pidgin of the Oracle scripting language in the process) than to trace through it all and figure out how many times each procedure would send a message back.
When I went back to my computer to make the changes, I encountered one of those mystery problems that plague programmers: One library didn't want to link in to the program. I was on the verge of believing I would have to reformat and reload my system when I discovered a way to make the library link. It's a workaround, though, and I'm still concerned about the fact that the error happened in the first place, because I don't know what it means.
My whole day was kind of like that. Nothing especially disastrous happened, and I even got some actual progress made, but lots of little weird picky things poked at me.
I hope today goes smoother. Even though I got to bed at an almost reasonable hour, I'm pretty tired today.
