Last year: But the part of me that's afraid of spiders isn't rational.
It's Friday. Finally, it's Friday, after an entire week of bad Mondays. Even before the disaster (was it only three days ago?) I wasn't having the best of weeks.
I'm going to sleep all weekend, I think. I'm so tired, so utterly drained... But first I have to get through the workday.
We Halled last night, to wrap up the wedding that we started on Monday. It was a relief for us, I think, to slip into a world where we could do something about evil; and into a moment where the worst evil to befall us was that the buffet ran low on cheese.
By unspoken but general consensus, we didn't talk much about the disaster. Kevin asked a question about evidence that none of us could answer; we traded information about assorted Red Cross efforts. But in general, we avoided the topic. We have done, or are planning on doing, what little we can possibly do. The only thing remaining is to wait, and worry about the future.
I spent about an hour arguing with my scanner last night, and finally convinced it to scan a couple of pictures from my sketchbook.

| This is supposed to be my 7th Sea character, Yngvild. Yes, I know that her hair is up on one side and down on the other; I wanted to see how it looked both ways. I confess I cheated - Her facial features needed to be moved down, en masse, about half a centimeter. Ah, the wonders of graphics programs... If you want to see what it looked like before I cheated, here. |

| When I started this, Monday evening, it was going to be a sketch of Tarri and Sanriel dancing. But I got distracted and decided to finish it later. Then Tuesday happened, and my mood kept influencing things. I finally gave in and turned it into another couple. Despite its somber mood, I'm pleased with how well it turned out. His hair and ear are quite awful, I know, but I think the hand is good. |
Time to get on with my day. Here's hoping it goes faster and smoother than the previous few.
