Weekend? What weekend?

It all went by so fast... I drew a picture on Friday that I'm quite proud of, and I had meant this weekend to sit down and scan in a good half of my travelling sketchbook and do a bonus weekend entry with the pictures.

But Friday evening Colleen came over to borrow some duct tape to fix her car (stupid radiator hoses) and wound up sticking around for a while. We eventually went and met Carl at T.G.I. Friday's for dinner, but not until fairly late.

Saturday we did some shopping - why is it I can never walk out of Target for less than $50? - and had Matt's 7th Sea game. Poor Matt - adventurers are supposed to be bold and brave, leaping into danger with a laugh, but we've gotten so conditioned to avoid the embarrassment of failure that we nearly stayed behind and missed the whole adventure.

We stayed up quite late Saturday night - some of us later than others; Matt didn't come to bed until six-thirty. He and Colleen had gone for another walk down in Colonial Williamsburg. "Let me tell you," Matt said to me Sunday morning, "there were some naked people in the Sunken Gardens last night!" (Streakers on the campus! Whee!)

Sunday we slept in late, then went to visit my parents for a while. When we got home, there was laundry to do that didn't actually get finished until nearly midnight.

And just like that, whoosh! the weekend is gone.

Oh, and that list? HA! I say again: HA!

Just lately, I've been suffering these mild, throbbing headaches in the afternoons and evenings. I'm not certain of the cause, but my current guesses are: caffeine withdrawal, aspartame reaction, and dehydration. So I have vowed to try, this week, to drink nothing but water, milk, and juice, in an effort to rehydrate my system and flush out whatever it is that's causing these headaches.

Of course, I say that, but we'll see how tough I talk when I'm fighting to stay awake and my office mate fills the office with the scent of his marvelous gourmet coffee...
