Last year: Anyone know any good recipes for crow?
The rest of the week is looking a bit busy.
Tonight I need to carve our jack-o-lantern. I'm stealing this idea, though modifying it slightly. Yeah, I know - I'm unbearable geek.
Along with carving out the pumpkin, I'll want to keep and roast the seeds. Pumpkin seeds are delicious, but something of a pain to get out and cleaned.
Tomorrow is going to be even busier; there are a fair number of kids in our neighborhood, so I expect a steady stream of trick-or-treaters, even though we're at the end of a cul-de-sac. On top of that, it's West Wing night (thank goodness trick-or-treating should be over by then - we'll turn off our porch light to discourage the older kids, anyway) and I have a Hall session scheduled.
Thursday, I'll need to try out the recipes I'm planning for my birthday party. I'm a little dubious about them both, especially the sopapillas. (Sopapillas are fried flour tortillas, but the only flour tortillas I could find are pre-cooked, so I don't know if they'll cook right. Recipes I've found online are for making them from scratch, which is more pain than I want to get into, since I'll also be making my birthday cake.)
And this weekend, I really need to get around to certain yardwork tasks. In particular, if I don't buy and plant bulbs soon, it's going to be too late. And I need to pull everything out of the garden and turn it under for the winter.
Time to get busy, I guess.
