Last year: Yep. I'm all about holiday fun.
I had intended to go to bed early last night. Ten-thirty or eleven, latest.
I'm sure you can guess how well that turned out.
At 11:45, I turned off the computer, with the intention of going up to bed and reading just one more chapter of my new book before turning in.
Matt came up an hour later.
My office is organizing party games for the office Christmas party, which is in two weeks. One of the games involves creating a "Christmas/office-related jingle or ditty" - a contest, you see.
I'm tempted to come up with something extremely sarcastic. But the people at whom it would be aimed wouldn't ever see it, and sarcasm doesn't really go over in this office very well anyhow.
Bah! Humbug!
I brought a miniature tree in to work with me today. I almost want one of the office "Crispies" to say something about there not being a star or angel on top. I'm spoiling for a fight, and already irritated that the office party is being called a "Christmas" party rather than a holiday party.
This is not the kind of attitude that sees one employed throughout the recession. I'm working on keeping it to myself, at least..
