January 2002

No, I'm not going to post the picture of Kevin's Japanese Bondage Cow, or talk about the Incident that drove me under the table into my Happy Place.
To be honest, I wouldn't be even a half-hour late if I hadn't laid in bed so long this morning, pissing and moaning about the necessity of getting up and digging out.
Wow. I'm all over the place this morning, mentally speaking. I guess it's a good thing it's Friday.
The day has not begun auspiciously. Granted, it's Monday, and one doesn't expect things to be rosy and bright, but it could definitely have been better.
  Yesterday didn't improve significantly.
But the bed was warm this morning, and the air was cold, and Matt and I were feeling snuggly and sleepy.
Closest to the closet door, where they're easiest to get to, are the shoes I actually wear.
I did not clean out the shoes - or anything else, for that matter - last night.
So we went out and parked on the side of the highway and chatted with her and Carl for a while and admired the enormous puddle of transmission fluid under the front of her truck.
I keep telling Matt, I think someone lied to me about this whole solstice thing.
So here I am at work, at seven in the morning.
  I am such a dork.
A lot of good things can come from a little bit of doubt, you know.
It was a pretty uneventful weekend, which if you ask me is a good thing.
If nothing else, he has to remember his password.
What was I saying? Oh, yeah, easily distracted.
At least it looks like an accident.
No super-fancy special effects; just a good story, and a whole handful of lines which are destined to be repeated for years.
Or I could just go and have a cup of coffee, and appreciate the fact that my life is orderly and quiet at the moment.
I struggled with the mess for a good fifteen minutes before finally stopping to think.
Not that I did any more work. I was determined in my slackitude.
