22 January 2002 Sorry if I confused some of you by not posting yesterday; I guess I forgot to mention it was a holiday. It was a pretty uneventful weekend, which if you ask me is a good thing. Matt made it home in plenty of time to go to Dad's birthday dinner Friday night. We went out for hibachi, which was good. I think the most amusing point of the evening was when the drunk couple at the table with us, hearing it was Dad's birthday, offered to buy him a celebratory shot of sake. (He turned it down - Dad's not a sake drinker.) Saturday was a little busier, as we had shopping to do. My foot doctor had lost my business by telling me the anti-inflammatories he'd prescribed for me were available in somewhat lower doses over the counter; and that my arch supports that needed to be replaced were available from the Athlete's Foot at the mall. Also, Matt needed some slacks to wear for the next few weeks while he's going to be in D.C.; and there was of course the weekly comics run. And I needed a new pair of shoes to replace the ones the cat peed in. So we picked up Colleen and went to the mall. We were also supposed to go shopping for the coffee table my parents promised to buy us for Christmas, but by the time we'd finished everything else, it was nearly time for K.T.'s Vampire game, so we went and hung out at Barnes and Noble for a while. It turned out K.T. wasn't up to playing Vampire, though, so we sat around and talked. Eventually we put Shrek in the DVD player, and when that ended it was nearly midnight, so we toodled home again. Sunday was much more relaxed - we did the laundry, and I made a final attempt at washing my old arch supports, this time in the clothes washer. (Successful, huzzah, which means I now have three good pairs of supports.) Other than that, we mostly just sat around talking and playing online. Sunday night I had a Hall session, which turned out very well - I got Jeff to come and help play the bad guys so I wouldn't be totally swamped. As it was, I had the fun of playing two characters in wildly different moods - I was nearly shaking with the emotional backwash. (It's fun. Stop looking at me like that.)
Monday was even slower. I spent most of the day playing games on NeoPets, and then playing the regular weekly Hall session. Now Matt's on his way back up to D.C., I'm back at work, and I'm contemplating a surprisingly busy week. Most of it is Hall sessions lined up, of course, but tonight I'm going down to my parents' house for dinner and to try to teach my dad how to make web pages. (Wish me luck... I'm going to need it.) |
