Sick, sick, sick.

Karen is sick. K.T. is sick. Random is sick. My project's team lead is sick.

I am surrounded by sick people. Sore throats, coughing, sneezing, upset stomach, pale and clammy skin... So far I've managed to avoid picking up any of their bugs. My gratitude goes to the multivitamin I take every morning, along with the glass of vitamin-C-packed tomato juice that I take it with. I felt a little achey when I woke up a few days ago, but it faded by mid-morning.

On the other hand, Murphy (you know, the fellow with the Law?) likes to hang out around us quite a bit. If I'm going to be laid low by this whatever-it-is virus, I imagine it will hit the day after our vacation starts.

I'm trying to decide whether the port wine I bought a few weeks ago gets stronger the longer it sits in the 'fridge; or if my tolerance for alcohol has gone completely down the tubes just lately. I had a glass last night, not too long after having a fairly substantial and carbohydrate-loaded dinner (spaghetti) and by the time I'd finished it I was feeling quite buzzed and silly.

Mixed drinks don't hit me that hard or that fast. It would have taken two or three screwdrivers or Tom Collins to have that much of an effect on me - or at least, that's what it used to be. I don't drink often; for all I know, I've suddenly become a lightweight. Or as Matt put it, a "cheap date."

The voices in my head...Despite having Dawn and Zoya circling each other in the middle of my brain all day yesterday, it was Tarri last night, taking meditation lessons from Vallel. Considering how late we started, it's probably for the best; it certainly helped me relax and get to sleep.

I always forget how nice it is to play Tarri. Even when she's fretting, she's got such a sweet, optimistic temperament that playing her feels like a breath of fresh air.
