9 April 2002 So here's the thing. I came home from the beach with a massive Hall jones, and stayed up Saturday night playing until, well, until early Sunday morning. About 5:30, to be precise. And then I got up again Sunday morning around 10:30. Five hours of sleep - but I was fine, actually. Sunday night, I stayed up late again, but not nearly so late. I got to sleep around two. Unfortunately, Monday mornings don't allow for sleeping in, and I was up at 6:30. Four and a half hours of sleep. (Less, actually, since I'd gotten up around 4:30 to put the cat out, and the half-hour from 6 to 6:30 was interrupted every few minutes by my and Matt's alarms.) I was fine yesterday, though I started getting sleepy much earlier than usual. I actually stuck to my guns and didn't have any side-sessions after the main Hall session last night, and I was in bed and well on the way to sleep around 11. I did get up to put the cat out, but that's so regular an occurrence now that I'm not sure it even counts. Got up at 6:30. Seven and a half hours of sleep! I'm not dragging, but I want a cup of coffee more than I did yesterday, and the world feels slightly tilted. I've been trying to figure out my sleep cycle for the last, oh... Almost a year, now. It's getting to the point where I'm actually starting to think of tracking my sleep, and the way I feel the next day. Except that so many other things affect how rested you are - are things stressy at work? Have I been eating well or subsisting on junk food? Have I gotten any exercise? Like that. But maybe simple tracking could at least show me a basic pattern... or if there is a pattern, even. Has anyone else ever done anything like this? If you have, please let me know what you did and how it worked? |
