10 April 2002

We're already a third of the way through April? How the heck did that happen?

Well. My dad came over yesterday evening and brought with him our new furniture, which had finally come in while Matt and I were on vacation.

Our new coffee table!I'm very pleased with it, really. There are two end tables that sort of match the coffee table - they're an odd shape, though, sort of a square with curved sides. But they're not really actually square, either, more like a squat rectangle... Oh, heck, they're hard to describe.

I tried to take a picture that included the coffee table and one of the end tables, but the wood is so dark you can't really see it. (I had to bleach this picture out a lot to make it look halfway decent.)

It took the three of us nearly an hour to put it all together (of course they had to be assembled) but it was kind of fun. It would have been better if it hadn't been so blasted warm.

And then afterwards, I scanned some stuff for my dad. I was expecting the scanner to give me trouble - Matt's computer has been locking up every time he tries to use it, if he can even get his computer to recognize the darned thing. But I turned it on and plugged it in and everything worked just fine... My computer did lock up once, but I should have expected that, actually - the scanner's software isn't the best, and every scan eats up a little memory that you don't get back until you reboot.

I guess Matt's computer just hates peripherals. It refuses to acknowledge the CD burner, too.

The voices in my head...So, in their tradition of not waiting more than a week for any single thing, Cat and Bastian waited no longer, and got married last night in an impromptu wedding. And in the tradition of the Hall, it was a long session... and we didn't even really make it to the post-wedding party. I think Matt and I crawled to bed around two. Two-thirty? Something like that.

Still, it was fun.
