22 May 2002 I woke up this morning and thought, Oh, thank the gods; it's Frida- Wait. Thur- Wednesday? Wednesday??? How can one week last so long??? I'm still feeling about like that, too. Have you ever known someone who, when they were upset about something, refused to admit it - but then took out their frustrations on the people around them, finding fault with the stupidest nitpicky things? It kind of reminds me of a four-year-old who hits his mom because he doesn't want to be put down for a nap - the action only underscores the desperate need for the nap. I try very hard not to air other peoples' dirty laundry in this journal, and I'm not going to go any further with this particular incident. But those of you who know how to read between the lines will know what I'm talking about. About all I'm prepared to say about it now is that I'm ready to go out and buy some steel-tipped cowboy boots, just so I can kick someone in the shins good and proper. I've gotten to the point where I'm dragging myself from day to day by waiting for events. Tonight I'll go down to visit K.T., though whether we game or play Putt-Putt or just pop in a DVD is kind of up in the air. Tomorrow, we're going go see Attack of the Clones. Friday is... Well, you know. Friday. Karen will get to town late Saturday night. Sunday we'll wrap up Loria's quest on the Hall. Monday is a holiday, yay! Then I've got Tuesday and Wednesday next week to get this project at work mostly wrapped up. (Which means I probably ought to get popping, hmm?) And then the ultimate goal that I'm dragging myself toward - a four-day weekend, yay! (Okay, I'm taking two days' vacation to make it a long weekend, but that's what the vacation is there for, right?) Oh, speaking of vacation: Matt came home yesterday and told me he had more sick leave saved up than vacation leave. (His office separates them.) I said, "Sounds to me like it's time to get sick!" |
Last Year: - Monday's a holiday. I won't have to come to work. A long weekend, thankyougod.
