3 June 2002

The summer bash was pretty good, if a little more relaxed than in previous years.

We sat around and talked a lot.

We watched a lot of movies - some were very good, some were just plain fun, and some were pretty bad but with very pretty people in them. (We spent a lot of time using the "fast-forward" button with those movies. And then the "pause" and "rewind" buttons.)

We ate a lot of very good food. At various times over the week, we had: tuna-stuffed tomatoes; chocolate-dipped strawberries, dried apricots, and pretzels; an assortment of cheeses and crackers; do-it-yourself english muffin pizzas; several wines and beers; homemade tacos; grilled hamburgers and hotdogs; homemade potato salad... And that's not even counting the food we went out to eat.

We had a few Hall sessions. I am amused that fully half the plot I'm running has taken place while Karen was here. Two more sessions - one probably Thursday, and one some time this coming weekend, and it'll be over. Plotwise, K.T. writes novels; I write short stories.

Sunday we met my parents at the annual Greek Festival and gave ourselves heat exhaustion sitting outside and eating all manner of wonderful and unpronounceable food.

It wasn't all peaches and cream, but I've promised to keep my opinions on certain topics more or less to myself. So I'll just say I've got some pretty strong opinions, and leave it at that.

I spent four days saving up anecdotes to tell, so naturally this morning I can't remember a single one of them. I know, I know; I'm unspeakably lame.

Needless to say (but of course I'm going to say it anyway) I don't really want to be back at work today. At least things should be relatively slow for a few days.
