12 July 2002 This is a whoji. K.T. draws one on our refridgerator whiteboard every time she comes over. Usually they're happier, though. I'm not sure why this one looks so fierce. I think I say it every week, but... Thank the gods the weekend is nearly here. I'm tired, I'm disgusted with my office again (have I mentioned I hate corporate politics?), and I want to just forget it all for a few days. I went down to pick up K.T. after work yesterday, and we went to the mall so I could commence my search for the perfect purse, and so we could stop at Claire's to buy Neopets stuff. The purse search was a bust, though we went to every single store that might possibly have had what I wanted. It didn't seem that hard, to me. I want a purse with a built-in wallet, including a checkbook holder. Which means, if I'm going to write checks, that the wallet section has to open out flat. Then I want one more section, big enough to hold my Palm and one or two other little things. And, ideally, a separate pocket for my cell phone. And it would be a nice bonus if it didn't look hideous. We found a lot of purses that were almost it. We found one that actually was it, except that the strap was weird, meant to be slung across the body like a bandolier, for long walks. It wasn't very comfortable, and I opted against it. But the Neopets stuff was cute, and I bought a few new pairs of earrings from Claire's. (We'll see if their so-called "sensitive ears" nickle-free metal sets off my allergies or not. They were fairly cheap earrings, so if I can't wear them, I haven't lost much - but I hope I can. It would be nice to have a reliable source for earrings again.) After we'd shopped, we went back and picked up Kevin for dinner. We went to the Olive Garden, where I had minestrone soup and the tomato and mozarella appetizer for dinner. K.T. and I split a dessert that we are determined to find the recipe for. All in all, it was a nice evening, though I'm sure K.T. and I are both suffering today from all the walking we did. |
