When I got home from work yesterday, there was a message on the answering machine. I almost left it for Matt, but played it anyway.

I'm glad I did - it was from my optometrist's office, telling me that my new glasses were in! Since I'd spent half the afternoon scratching at the spot on my temple where the old glasses were giving me allergies, I leapt back into my car and drove over to pick them up.

Picture of the Day

I think they look pretty nifty. The prescription sunglasses weren't in yet - they told me polarized lenses take a little longer, usually. But that's okay. I can wait another week for my sunglasses.

My optometrist told me my prescription hadn't changed much, but I think he's lying. That, or the shape of these glasses is so different from the old glasses that it's disorienting. Especially when I'm looking up, it seems like things are curved differently.

It'll take me a couple of days to get used to it, I guess. For now, every time I put on my glasses or move my head too quickly, I feel a little light-headed for a few seconds until my eyes figure out precisely where they are.

We went with K.T. and Kevin last night to see Men In Black II.

It was... okay. The jokes that were funny in the first movie were still funny in this one, though not quite as good, not being fresh. There weren't many new jokes, and that was disappointing. Every time K was onscreen, I was a beat behind on his dialogue because I was marvelling at how old Tommy Lee Jones looked.

So. I didn't feel like ripping my eyeballs out of my head when it was over, but I don't think I'm going to want to see it again or anything.
