August 2002

And then you have to go either kill your friend, kill yourself, or eat a chocolate bar.
I just need to slog through the next eight hours.
Of course, it would help if I could stop getting ideas for other books based in the same world.
I don't think I actually got to sleep until nearly one.
I wasn't even trying to finish the chapter. But I kept getting distracted.
  Just thought I'd share that.
Of course, it being Friday helps with the whole "happy" thing.
That was my weekend. Far far far too short, but fun.
How I could get that feeling out of seven hours' worth of evening, when I couldn't get it out of two days' worth of weekend, I have no idea.
I may do something radical and weird in the near future, like have my parents over for dinner.
We played with these little things for hours - or at least until the "right" name came up.
I suppose I should be grateful we hadn't gone down to watch a ninety-minute flick.
"It's Lowe's," I said. "We're not allowed to walk out for less than $150."
On the other hand, it also gives my writing a strange tone that highlights their alien-ness, so that's good.
I couldn't even finish that second sentence. I just sat there, staring at it.
Have I ever had a journal entry shorter than my sidebar before? It might happen...
  Busy day, busy day.
But we did make some good progress.
Y'all have a happy Feast Of Liz!
Haven't I said it before? I have the coolest friends in the world.
It's going to be either a long, unproductive day, or a day that goes by startlingly quickly - but still unproductive.
Things are going to get very, very interesting in the Brooks household sometime in the next six months or so...
