I know I had a weekend around here somewhere; now just where did I put it?

Actually, it wasn't too bad. K.T. and I got a lot of work done on the novel (though we completely re-worked one plot, so there's at least one or two bits that will have to be scrapped and begun over). But we did make some good progress.

I keep thinking when we've finished the rough draft that we should do something to celebrate. I've never finished a big project like this before. Hell, I've never even got this close before. And yeah, a completed rough draft is nowhere near actually done - but even that much is a huge accomplishment. So I've been kind of thinking about what we could do to celebrate. I suppose it'll depend at least in part on when we finish it.

Saturday evening we went over to Jeremy and Elizabeth's for E's birthday party. It wasn't a wild party or anything; the only other guests were the Brandts. (Emma's walking! Holy cow!) But Jeremy fired up the grill and we had hamburgers and hot dogs and E's special mac'n'cheese, and all was good.

I got some more writing done on Sunday, but mostly we just had a lazy day. Matt got so bored that he signed up with NetFlix and registered almost fifty movies.

And I not only got my new bike rack put on my car, but I also put touch-up paint on the spots where the old rack had scratched the paint off my car. (Which would be the reason I got a new bike rack in the first place.) But at least I got the new rack installed the right way around; unlike the old rack, I now won't have to be lifting the bike over my head to get it up there.

Now it's back to work. Bah.

And this week, Mike and I get to play some more with Oracle's Report Builder - we'll have two new reports to create.

I think we worked a little too fast on the others. This week, we'll work slower. We do not want to become Oracle programmers. Nopenopenope.
