Not looking forward to today. Nope nope nope. Well, not this morning, anyway.

I'm on this committee at work, see. The Engineering Process Group. Doesn't that sound fancy? Technically, it means that I'm part of the group of people who determine what the company's standard practices and processes will be.

In reality, the managers and task leaders do all that work. I get the documents in my e-mail, I skim them, I go to occasional meetings to ratify them. It looks good on my resume.

Usually, it isn't something I think about too much. But today... Today there's an EPG meeting blocked out for two hours, from nine to eleven.

Two hours. And it makes me crazy when the weekly staff meeting goes over 20 minutes.

Gah. Bruce, who's the office muckity-muck in charge of the EPG, says he doesn't think it'll take more than an hour. But there's this guy, R., who's on the committee who always, always, always has to argue about everything. I keep wondering if he took a lot of "participation required" classes back in college or something, because he can't let a single thing through without making comments.

Two hours of my life I'll never get back.

But things look up after that, at least. The office is holding a surprise wedding shower for Random right before lunch, and I don't have so much work to do that my afternoon will be swamped.

I just have to get through two hours of EPG crap, first.

The Voices In My Head...One word: GAH!

Sanriel came home again. There's two of him! Poor Tarri. (Poor me, too. Ashby's schedule means he'll only be able to get online one or maybe two nights a week, which means this is going to take a while to resolve.)

And Kevil's all up in arms over K.T.'s plot. Except that he isn't. If he was actually up in arms, there would be a course of action for him to follow. At the moment, he's kind of stuck on the sidelines, watching one of the most painful things he's ever had to witness. Slavery infuriates him like nothing else... but this time it isn't as simple as raiders illegally snatching citizens.

(There. Now don't you wish I'd left it at GAH!?)
