31 October 2002 Hallowe'en? Now? But- But- But didn't we just... I know y'all must get mightily tired of me whining about how fast the time seems to go, but it does. Hallowe'en means my birthday is in less than two weeks! Except for some vague planning with my parents ("Oh, yeah, we'll have dinner.") I hadn't even really thought about it. Didn't make a special push to add anything to my wishlist - either the one here, or the Amazon one. Haven't planned any parties or get-togethers with our friends. Haven't planned (or made requests for) any baking. I'm okay with that, actually. I threw a pretty big party last year, when I turned 30. I'm willing to turn 31 in relative quiet. K.T. and Kevin were out of town yesterday, so I stayed home and watched TV with Matt. I got to see West Wing for the first time in months. Damn, I'd forgotten how much I love that show. Jed Bartlett is the president I wish we had... What if we all wrote in Martin Sheen on the ballot in 2004, and insisted that he make Aaron Sorkin (the show's writer) his speechwriter and Secretary of State? Okay, maybe not, but it was still a really good show. I'm going to start taping it, since I can't convince K.T. and Kevin to even give it a try, so I can watch it on Thursday or over the weekend. And Matt suffered through Presidio Med with me. Though I think mostly he ignored it in favor of surfing. I was a little disappointed that Slingerland and Jordan were so low-key; I think if anything might have interested Matt in the show, it would've been those two. But all I got from him was a disparaging comment on Dr. Jordan's poofy hair. Ah, well. I refuse to be disappointed; Nick and Rae finally kissed! And next week's show is being pre-empted for the Country Music Awards??!? ACK! A brief moment of evangelism: MyWay.Com. Online internet services - email, news, stock quotes, games... Sort of like Yahoo. But no ads. No banners. No side-screens. No popups. No popunders. None. They're not as big as Yahoo yet, but I'd like to see them grow. I'd resigned myself years ago to ads. I'd like to see MyWay succeed. Go take a look, and think about signing up. It looks like the weather is going to clear up for trick-or-treating tonight. Matt and I, recalling two years in a row of running out of candy early, bought a lot of candy. So, naturally, we'll get about ten kids. Ah, well; I've got a candy dish at work. |
Last Year: - So overall, I'm pleased with how everything turned out, and I think the party will be a success.
