Oops. I forgot to take my disk home yesterday, so I didn't get to post my journal entry inviting people to have lunch with me today. Oh, well. Random is going to go out to lunch with me anyway, so I'm not going to be entirely pathetic.

If you didn't see my blog entry, my grandmother's gift arrived yesterday, and I had to open it right away because the box threatened that it was perishable. It turned out to be six packs of english muffins in an assortment of flavors.

Looking more closely, this morning, each pack only has four muffins in it - they're enormously thick. It'll make a nice birthday breakfast for me tomorrow. Especially with some of the home-made jam Karen sent a while back that's been lurking in the back of my 'fridge.

I made cupcakes last night - strawberry cake with cream cheese icing, a combination I happened across a couple of years ago and loved. Some I left at home, but most of them came to work with me today. I even gave in to temptation while I was at the grocery store and bought the mini-muffin pan, so I have cupcakes in two sizes.

And when I came in to work this morning - surprise! - there's a "Happy Birthday" banner over my office door, and another little sign taped to my monitor. I have no idea who did that, but my current guess is Becky. Whoever it was, they made me smile this morning.
