I'm thinking about picking up a crochet or knitting project again - something to keep my hands occupied in the evenings. Nothing as ambitious as an afghan, but I might be able to swing a baby blanket, or some placemats. Or maybe I'll make some more lace-wrapped Christmas ornaments to give parents and grandparents as gifts.

Anyway, I need to do something. I stepped on the scale yesterday morning, and... Yeah. Got to keep the hands occupied so they can't feed the face so often.

I need to make sure I don't completely slack off on the exercise, too. For about the last month or so, unless it's been raining, I've been trying to get out every afternoon to walk around the circle where I work - that's about a mile. Last week, because of the impending deadline, I let it slide.

Only one week off, and I noticed the difference as soon as I got back out to walk again. I need to not let it slide again. My goal is to get the habit so ingrained that I'll keep doing it when spring and summer roll around again and it's hot and nasty outside. (It'd be easier if my iPod didn't keep locking up just as I'm leaving the parking lot.)

I actually don't mind so much being overweight - it's not like I'm trying to pick up guys or anything - but if I'm going to have a baby, I need to be healthier than I am now. I need to be stronger, to have more endurance, to be less susceptible to colds and whatnot.

At least work has settled back into a more relaxed pace again. I have time to write my journal entry in the mornings; I have time to do a little writing during the day; I have time to take my walk after lunch.
