19 December 2002 Well, that's that. We went to the grocery store last night, and they actually had everything that was on my list. So unless we get down to the last minute and I think of something I've forgotten, then we're all ready to make Christmas dinner, and I won't have to set a foot in a store again until after the holidays. (Wait, I take that back; we'll have to do some grocery shopping next week, too.) I'm glad I didn't get a bigger turkey, though - when we got home, it only just barely fit into the freezer. And it's not like this one won't be plenty for everyone, plus leftovers. I'm already looking forward to the soup, and I'm sure Matt is happily dreaming of turkey sandwiches. The office is going to be pretty well empty next week. Lots of people have already left; almost everyone is taking all of next week off. A few people are coming in Monday and Tuesday, but going to be out between Christmas and New Year's, and a few more - like me - are taking off Tuesday through Thursday. Poor Random, out for the whole first week of December with the flu, is in the red on his vacation-time balance, so he only gets Christmas itself off. Ah, well, it'll be nice and peaceful for him, I guess. I certainly don't anticipate much actual work being done. (For that matter, how much actual work is going to be done today and tomorrow? Not a lot, let me tell ya.) Heather, one of the lower-level managers in our office, had a baby at the beginning of November. She brought him in yesterday for a visit. So cute! I can't wait for mine! The little-bitty hands and those cute little outfits! Yeah, I was pretty well squealing... Nothing really new on the pregnancy front. I think it's about time for me to order a couple of new bras, though. I won't have to buy maternity pants until February or March, and since I like loose, baggy shirts anyway the maternity tops can probably wait until April. But bras are pretty much supposed to be form-fitting, and let me tell you - my form ain't fitting real well any more. I did have an hour or so of pretty pronounce queasiness yesterday afternoon right after lunch. I decided I need to lay off the pasta bowls for a while, and I'm just about off my broccoli kick, so when we went to the grocery store, I got frozen lunches. |
