The weather? Yuck! Ick! Ack! Ptooey! Sleet and freezing rain and snow mixed with ice. It'll be March in two days! Isn't it time to get just a little bit warmer? We had a couple of days of perfect, gorgeous 60-degree weather. And now it's icy and frozen again.

Work? Yuck! Ick! Ack! Ptooey! I've got one meeting this afternoon, and two tomorrow, each of which is two or two and a half hours in length. I don't mind so much the editing I've been doing, but these meetings are not something I'm looking forward to.

Politics? Yuck! Ick! Ack! Ptooey! I changed radio stations three times on my 10-minute drive to work this morning, and finally went back to the station playing the song I hate because it was better than listening to the irate caller who thought that if we just assassinated Saddam Hussein (like this is a new idea that's never been tried before) that all our problems in the Middle East would be solved; or the DJ trying to sound worldly and well-informed and sincere as he argued that oil interests and Bush's political standings had nothing to do with the war-to-come.

The search for a new car? Yuck! Ick! Ack! Ptooey! This weekend, I need to call around to some other Honda dealerships to see if I can find somewhere a Hybrid Civic to test drive. But the more I ponder it, the more I'm beginning to think I might just prefer the Prius anyway. And actually, the more I ponder it, the more I wonder if I wouldn't want a bigger vehicle, for child transport. I don't usually drive more than 100 miles in a week; getting a hybrid is less a matter of economics and more one of supporting an ecologically-sound technology. When I've got a toddler to haul around, will I wish I'd gone for convenience, instead?

Health? Yuck! Ick! Ack! Ptooey! We forgot to turn on the humidifier last night, so I woke up all cotton-mouthed again this morning. The results of the triple-screen test I took last week, which indicates the possibility of certain birth defects, are due back soon, and I'm not worried about it, but I am starting to feel slightly twitchy. And my OB's office seems to have forgotten to call me back with the results of my latest TSH bloodwork, so I've been out of synthyroid for a few days, and I'm starting to feel the effects.

(One of the symptoms of low thyroid production: Irritability and anti-social behavior. Hmm...)
