Happy St. Patrick's Day! I forgot completely about it until it was time to leave for work. I guess the best I'll be able to do for green is to put a green sticky-note on my shirt.

It was a good, if busy, weekend. Rachel came down Friday afternoon. She was staying with K.T. and Kevin, so Friday evening Matt and I went down and the five of us went to Carmella's for dinner. (Mmmm... Sun-dried tomato ravioli in a cream-tomato sauce...) We were just about finished with dinner when we had an Adventure - something was wrong with their wood-fired stove that they use to make breads and pizzas, and they had to call the fire department and evacuate the building for five minutes or so.

Rachel also gave K.T. and I our first baby gifts - adorable Winnie-the-Pooh layette sets in yellow and green. (A layette set is a matching set of shirt, shorts, hat, and bootie socks. I didn't know until recently, either.) So now even if we don't get around to getting a crib, the baby will have clothes to wear home from the hospital! Thanks, Rachel!

Saturday, since Kevin was at work, Matt and I picked up K.T. and Rachel and we went to the mall. We had lunch, bought Girl Scout cookies, Matt got a new battery for his watch, K.T. dropped off Kevin's pocketwatch to be repaired, and she went looking for a shoe store, but we were in the wrong mall. So instead, we wandered down to Bath and Body Works.

When we left the mall, we went over to Sam's Club. Matt and I needed another big pack of Kleenex, and of course it's impossible to go into Sam's Club without making half a dozen impulse buys. I was astonished that we got out for less than $50.

By the time that was over, K.T. was having a full-blown attack of first-trimester-narcolepsy, so we dropped her off at home, and Matt and Rachel and I went to World's Best Comics, since Rachel wanted to pick up some comics.

At least, we tried to go to World's Best. When we got there, it had been replaced by a beauty salon supply store. Um...

So we went back to K.T.'s and read for a while. When she got up from her nap, we looked World's Best up in the phone book and called them to get directions to their new location. We watching Mulan, since it's among K.T.'s favorite movies and Rachel had never seen it before. Then we went down to World's Best and puttered, and then we went over to Don Pablo's for dinner.

By the time dinner was done, Matt and I were drooping, so we only lingered a little while before heading home. I stayed up late adding pictures to the new section of my brother's website.

Despite being up late, Sunday I got up early (see this blog entry) and puttered around for a while before going back to bed for a bit. Then I went over to K.T.'s, where we did our weekly editing. (It keeps going faster and faster. This time, despite several bathroom breaks and one very long chapter, we got through it all in about three and a half hours.)

We sat around and talked pregnancy and babies for a little while, and then I went home. Matt was a little bored and restless, so he spent some time that evening finishing the baby name book. When he finished, I compiled a list. I guess we should hope we have a boy...

It was a good weekend, but far too short. I need another day's worth of sleep!
