9 May 2003

Yesterday was pretty slow, all around. Work was slow, then I got home and took my time about making dinner, and then I did not much of anything for the rest of the evening.

It was lovely and relaxing.

Matt was feeling restless, so he did some work upstairs, moving the smaller bits of the desk that we're getting rid of down to the garage, along with some other stuff, and hooking up the PC again, and moving some smaller furniture. He'll need to get some help moving the bigger pieces of furniture, but it won't be long before we can move the guest bed into what is now the computer room, and then we'll have room to start setting up the nursery.

The weekend looks like it's going to be fairly busy. Jeff is coming up today to spend a week at his parents' time-share in Williamsburg - or, more precisely, he's spending a week at his parents' time-share so he can hang out with the group of us. The Amazing Disappearing Ashby is making an appearance, possibly with but probably without his new girlfriend. I think he's coming Saturday night and staying for three or four days.

So Matt and I will probably spend most of the weekend down at K.T. and Kevin's, and we'll eat out a lot. At least, that's my guess. Sometime Saturday K.T. and I will kick out all the boys and do our week's editing - providing, of course, that I finish going through the chapters today.

Should be fun, but I don't expect to get anything like sufficient sleep.

It sounds like there's going to be a meeting happening in the conference room that's across from my office for most of the day today. Goodie-goodie. That means I'll have to close my office door or the noise will drive me crazy. And my office is already hot enough.

I just need to get through the day, and there's a weekend waiting...

Maybe, if I'm lucky, my boss will skip out early again today (or better still, not come in - he's got the current version of the Mongolian Death Virus that's sweeping the office) and I'll be able to sneak out early.
