Slow morning yesterday. I spent most of it trying to stay awake. K.T. logged in around noon, and we spent the afternoon Halling. Matt's plot has us all in a frenzy... And since K.T. is co-HMing, we're naturally being pretty paranoid about checking and double-checking every little angle. Everyone say it with me, now: Booooo, orcs! I dozed off in my chair, waiting for the regular Hall session, so once the session was over I only lingered to chat for another half-hour before waddling up to bed. I think I was asleep in about two minutes flat. Today should be fun. I've got my monthly doctor's appointment this morning. The last of the monthly checkups, actually - after this, I'll start going every two weeks. This month is the glucose tolerance test, to make sure I'm not gestationally diabetic. In an hour and a half, I'm going to chug ten ounces of super-sweet, mostly flat orange soda. When I get to the doctor's office, they'll check my sugar levels. If it comes back high, then they'll do a three-hour test. What fun. I'm at the beginning of the third trimester - the beginning of the seventh month. As Matt says, I'm beginning to get to the point where this is no longer fun and interesting. It's starting to get a little old. I haven't reached the point yet where I'm sick of it. It's still kind of neat to watch my stomach jump and move. The baby isn't kicking so hard that it's painful, though it's a bit uncomfortable when she turns inward and punches internal organs. It's getting difficult to pick anything up off the floor, but it isn't impossible yet. And I still love to feel her move, but it's a little hard to concentrate on anything when she's thumping hard. But I can kind of see the painful, awkward time around the corner, when I'll be totally unable to concentrate or sleep and I'll have to get Matt to help me put on my socks. I'm not looking forward to it. But I'm trying to maintain a positive state of mind. It won't be fun. But I have every confidence that it will be worth it, as so many people have promised. |
