Well, Matt finished re-painting the nursery last night. We got home from work, gathered our things, and went right back out - him to buy paint (and a birthday present for his brother) and me to get curtains for the nursery. After we got home, we had a quick dinner, and then Matt went upstairs to start (or more precisely, resume) painting. I puttered slowly around downstairs, trying to straighten up the clutter there. I got the living room mostly straightened, though there are more things we'll have to do before the baby become mobile. But last night's goal wasn't baby-proofing; it was picking up so my mother-in-law won't see what a slob I usually am. I still need to clear stuff off the dining room table so the four of us will be able to eat Friday night, but that's a smaller mess, and a little less critical. It took about forever, though. My hip (a touch of sciatica being my only real pregnancy complaint) keeps hurting worse and worse. I am definitely ready for this pregnancy to be over. Matt finished painting around 9. We're not doing anything with the baby's room tonight (well, we might pick up the drop cloths and peel up the masking tape) so that we can give the paint a full 24 hours to dry. We'll even have time to squash in a Hall session! Tomorrow, now... Tomorrow will be busy. Karen's coming to town tonight, but doesn't expect to arrive until pretty late. So she - and possibly K.T. and Kevin - is coming over tomorrow afternoon (about the same time Matt and I get off from work) to visit with us until we have to leave for our class. We have our class from 7 - 9. Infant growth and development. I hope that's useful. And then somewhere in there, either while we're being social, or after the class, or (probably) both, we need to pack up all the painting gear (if we haven't already), assemble the crib, move all the furniture into position and get the stuff out of the guest/computer room that we have stacked in there, re-make the guest bed (we've been using the pillows and blanket from the guest bed for our Lamaze class), and (if we have time) hang the curtains in the nursery. Most of those jobs shouldn't take more than half an hour apiece. The one thing that worries me is the crib assembly. I haven't yet had anyone tell me, "Oh, if you follow the directions, it's a snap!" But I guess there's nothing to do but wait and see. If it's not finished and the curtains don't get hung, well, maybe Jill and Rachael can help out Friday evening. Busybusybusy. But exciting! I'm looking forward to the weekend. It will be busy, no doubt, but it should be fun! Pictures, pictures, pictures. I'll make sure Matt brings his camera to the shower, and I'll have pictures next week! |
Last Year: It's not so much that I'm tired (though I am, a little) as that everything that's currently flitting through my brain is only worth a sentence or two, at most.
