Dammit, I'm on leave. I'm supposed to be sleeping in right now.

Except that sleeping keeps getting harder and harder to do as the weight and shape of my belly keep changing. So I woke up this morning when the cat came in to tell Matt it was time for breakfast, and although I tried to go back to sleep afterward, I couldn't get comfortable.

Matt scowled at me while he was brushing his teeth. "You should be resting!"

"I can't get comfortable. But I can take a nap a little later, if I get tired," I reassured him.

"You'd better!"

"Well, except that I have a doctor's appointment at 10:40. So if I get tired too close to then, I'll have to just stick it out. But I could take a nap after the doctor's."

"You should eat lunch, too!"

"Oh, yeah. So I could take a nap after lunch."

I probably will, even. But lunch is going to be delayed at least a bit, because I have a couple of errands I want to run after I go to the doctor's. One of Matt's uncles sent us a check as a baby present, so I want to get that deposited. And I realized after I got home yesterday that I'd forgotten to set up my e-mail autoresponse at work, so I may swing by the office just long enough to do that.

So today is not really going to be much less busy than a day at work would be.

On the plus side, I get to lounge around the house in my pyjamas and chat on IRC and watch DVDs or read until I have to get dressed to go to the doctor's. And then I'll spend my afternoon pretty much the same way, except we might throw in a nap somewhere. And we'll spend the evening gaming.

That all counts as resting, right?

Matt was heading out the door to work, and he said, "Now you and the baby get some rest!"

I said, "Well, I will. I don't have much control over her." Suppose I'd better resign myself to that now, anyway.

(Speaking of the baby, she is demanding breakfast. Time to stop babbling and get everything uploaded.)
