I've had better days than yesterday, really I have. It was my day to work from home, so after I saw Matt and Penny off, I started setting up my laptop. I got all plugged in and ready to go, then realized I'd left my RSA security fob at work, in the old laptop case. I can't log into the network without it. So I had to drive in to the office just to get it. At least it's nearby. Then, around mid-morning, when I took a break to do a load of laundry, I stepped on a can on the floor in the garage and fell over. I missed braining myself on the dryer by about an inch, and twisted my ankle so it hurt for most of the rest of the day. I thought I'd make some soup for lunch - I had a package of barley, bean, and mushroom soup that's been sitting around for a few months. The directions said that after simmering for about two hours, I should have around five cups of soup. So I simmered it for two hours, and wound up with more like three cups of soup, most of it kind of mushy. It was edible, but only barely. I had a bowl, and threw the rest out. Penny has apparently reverted entirely to getting up twice a night instead of just once. Matt and I were up at 11:30 and 3, and then she woke up this morning at 5. On the other hand, I didn't get called into the office for anything. And Penny was willing to sit calmly on my lap long enough for me to eat my dinner while it was still hot. And she was being awfully cute and happy this morning. And my DiskOnKey that was my other birthday present from Matt arrived, and they've changed the way it looks, and the new design (once I figured it out) is pretty darned cool. And K.T. passed on a pretty simple method for increasing milk supply, which worked for her, at least, so hopefully it will work for me, too. So, y'know, it's not all bad. |
Last Year: It'll only take a couple of hours, right?
