27 February 2004

Well, it's been a morning of mixed blessings.

I woke up at 5:15 to the realization that Penny hadn't woken up yet. I couldn't go back to sleep, but I dozed for another half-hour until she did wake up.

Yay, sleeping through the night!

I gave her a bottle and got her dressed and did all my morning things while Matt was in the shower. And then Matt came down to take her and I went to take my own shower. When I got out, she sounded a little fussy, so I called down to find out what was going on.

She'd thrown up.

It was a chain reaction, Matt said - a sneeze turned into a fart turned into a burp turned into a cough turned into URP!

She seemed otherwise fine, so we sent her to daycare anyway (bad parents!) but we won't try to quibble if they send her home again.

And I'd been looking forward to the weekend...

I hope she's not actually sick. But if she is, please, oh gods, don't let me get it again. I've only been over the last bout of stomach uck for a couple of weeks.

I got a new scale for the bathroom yesterday. I don't know about its accuracy, but at least this one gives me the same reading if I step off and then back on again. Consistency, in this case, is more important than precision.

I also got a thermometer for my office, because I'm perpetually freezing in here. If I was cold at home, too, I'd think it was me - that it was a metabolism or hormone thing. But no, I'm perfectly comfortable at home. And freezing at work. I just want to know.

But I forgot it at home this morning. Ah, well.

And just when I thought I was going to have one meeting-free day this week, they scheduled me a meeting for this afternoon.

At least it's not another first-thing-in-the-morning meeting. I hate that.

Everyone keep your fingers crossed for our health this weekend, and have a good one!
