So, for those of you who didn't catch the blog entry yesterday, or who decided (wisely, I'm sure) to heed the great big TMI warnings, I'll sum up my doctor's visit. With less TMI, I promise. Sometime in the next couple of weeks, I'm going to have some minor (if very squeamish-sounding) surgery. And it had damned well better fix the problem. I'll know more after my doctor's office clears things with my insurance company and calls me back to set up the appointments. (One to go back to my doctor's office to have the procedure explained in detail, and get all the post-operative care instructions; and one for the actual procedure.) Which is very definitely not what I was expecting when I went in to the doctor's office yesterday. Penny's appetite and mood had both improved yesterday. I couldn't get her to keep her mouth open long enough for me to check and see if her new tooth had broken through yet, or what, though. Or maybe it's just that her cold had cleared up a little. Or maybe she'd just needed a good knock to the head. Don't look at me like that. She did it to herself - she was playing on the floor with some blocks, and did a face-plant right on one. She does that kind of thing all the time; it was just a matter of time before she fell over onto something that didn't have a forgiving surface. Daycare wrote up an accident report, and she's got a teeny little bruise on one side of her forehead. Whatever the motivation, she ate probably 4oz of assorted solid food last night, and eventually went to bed and didn't wake up again (well, at least she went right back to sleep instead of crying and screaming) until about 5:40 this morning. Which is early, but acceptable. Though she did wake up around 4:30, and Matt and I both thought she was going to get fussy. But she went back to sleep, and shortly thereafter, so did we. And then I dreamed that the power went off, and I was afraid to go back to sleep (even though I was asleep, but I didn't realize it) because I didn't want to miss my alarm... What I'm saying is, it wasn't very restful sleep. I need another three or four hours. But then... Don't I always?
