No new progress on the deck, except that our lumber was delivered. But I didn't take a picture of that. If you want to look at lumber, go to a hardware store. I'll take pictures again when the lumber is beginning to assume a deck-like shape. Boy, it'd sure be nice if Penny's cough would clear up this weekend, so she (and we) can get some decent sleep again. Heck, it'd be nice if my cough would clear up. As long as I'm wishing. Matt told me this morning that, for a little while this morning, Penny and I were snoring in unison. Something must be done. Maybe I'll sample some of the snakeoil in the drug drawer this weekend. Or at least go buy some more cough syrup. It's Friday. I'm not showing anything on my calendar that's especially urgent today for work, aside from a meeting at 1 that, due to various circumstances, will be extremely brief. And another meeting that could happen at any time, but will also be extremely brief. Which is good. I'm too tired to do a lot of urgent work. I've got some writing I want to do, because there's a scene that's very clear in my mind and I want to get it out before it fades. Hopefully, I'll have a chance to do that today. And there are a few puttery things I can do around the office. Cleanup work, administrative detail, that sort of thing. So, here's hoping for a nice, quiet, calm day at work. And for once, there isn't anything on my calendar for this weekend, either. We're not going anywhere, or visiting anyone. We don't need to go down to Newport News to do any shopping. If things are going smoothly, I might see if Matt is willing to take Penny (maybe he can arrange to meet Braz and Emma at the park) while I go shopping for some pants. And the guy we hired to build the deck said he was planning on working on it this weekend, but that's background stuff. Nothing we're doing directly. (Aside from occasionally letting the guy bend our ears. I've never, but never met anyone, male or female, who talks as much as this guy.) Other than that... Things are going to be calm. I like calm. Calm is good. |
