Yesterday was fun. NOT. I spent most of it in a dim room, making my eyes ache by working on a projector-screen, and making my head ache by trying to figure out how we could prove various processes to an auditor. And then I spent my afternoon trying to scramble to get a document reviewed that was supposed to have been delivered before lunch. Today's going to be another scramble, because this stupid project has a re-release today, and then another release next Friday, and you would not believe the amount of paperwork that goes into a release. That doesn't even count my monthly administrative gunk that I haven't even thought about starting yet. Bleah, and blah, and bleck. But yesterday evening was pretty good. Penny was in a good mood (despite the fact that we think her ear infection is back) and she ate a very impressive dinner, including the last of a jar of macaroni-and-beef (the baby version of spaghettios, basically). I think she's finally starting to get the hang of food-with-texture. (The problem, now, is variety. She hates peas with a vengeance, and more than half of our store's offering of chunky baby foods has peas in it. But maybe we'll be able to get her to try macaroni and cheese again.) And she was so very tired when I finally put her to bed last night that she didn't so much as whimper. She leaned toward the bed while I was putting the crib rail down, and then reached out for her blanket, and rolled right over with it. And she slept until 5:30 this morning, which was nice. And I bought our tickets for Saturday's movie. Which didn't make last night better so much as firm up our plans for a nice afternoon out this weekend. Whoo! Long weekend, here I come! (But first, that administrative crap...) |
Last Year: I just wish the whole thing wasn't so stupid and complicated.
