7 July 2004

I had a rough night last night. I can't even blame it on the baby. She woke up once around 4:30, but the 12:30 wakeup, and the 2:00? That was all me. For no apparent reason, I couldn't sleep through Matt's restlessness, or a truck turning around in the cul-de-sac, or something.

And the freaking scale went up again today, even though I was good yesterday.

And Penny was tired and fussy for most of the morning.

And there's some administrative glitch in the system, so I can't seem to access my employee's timesheet to review and approve it (approval day is tomorrow).

And Matt took a dislike to the Ear/Nose/Throat office he took Penny to yesterday. For very good reasons, mind you, and I agree with him, but that means I have to hope I saved the scrap of paper on which I jotted the name of the other ENT specialist and their number, and call them today and hope they can see Penny in a reasonable amount of time.

Which means my day isn't starting off very well.

I should make an effort not to be negative, I know. If I say I'm having a bad day, then it's probably not going to turn around. If I try to look on the bright side, then even if things don't actually get better, I'm usually calmer and more able to deal with all the shit.

But I'm just not feeling very positive today.

I'm just tired. And I have a variety of aches and pains that I try not to mention here, because it would just be pointless whining, but I don't want to move. I just want to sit here in my office chair and stare at the wall.

Maybe I'll feel less whiny after I've had some coffee.

Then again, maybe not.

Bah, forget it. I'm not worth talking to, today. Go look at the cute baby in the latest photo album pictures or something.
