Penny woke up briefly at 4. Matt was halfway out of bed when she stopped crying and went back to sleep. While it's good that she can put herself back to sleep, we still woke up. She woke up again at 4:30. And 4:50. At 5:10, I went in to try to soothe her. That worked for all of about 15 minutes. At 5:30, Matt went in to soothe her, which didn't do any good at all, so I got up ten minutes later and just picked her up so Matt could try to get another little bit of sleep. I'm trying to be positive: At least she's sleeping well through most of the night. We're not getting up between 12 and 2 anymore. But boy, I'll be glad when she's finished cutting this most recent set of teeth. There are company muckity-mucks in the office today. No dress-down day. Mind you, I haven't worn jeans to work on Friday for several months - I still haven't found jeans that fit and are comfortable, though I'll admit freely I haven't exactly been looking. But it does mean that I had to wear my dressier shoes instead of my slip-on sneakers. At least I don't have to be in the meeting that the muckity-mucks are here for. It's running from 8:30 to 2. They're going to have lunch catered, even so they don't have to break for lunch. (But, I notice, they are wrapping up early so they can get in a few rounds of golf.) I despise corporate culture. But hey, let's try to look on the bright side: Maybe - just maybe! - with all the managers in that meeting, I might be able to get a little writing done. Stranger things have happened. |
