Okay, so Matt's computer is back in operation, which means that he can recharge batteries for me in the evenings again. Huzzah!

The story is a little embarrassing, and since I at least try not to humiliate my friends and loved ones in public most of the time, I'll leave it for him to tell.

So now I'm not quite as anxious for Apple to hurry up and ship my new computer. Though, of course, I'm still eager to get it.

By the time it gets here, I may very well have reached my next medium-sized diet goal, which was to get to where I'd been when I was going to Weight Watchers. I'm only about a pound away.

I'd been planning on giving myself a visit to the day-spa around the corner for a nice massage, as a reward for hitting that goal. So since the computer is ordered anyway, I'm thinking that I'll reverse the two - the computer for hitting the Weight Watchers target, and the spa trip for the big goal.

I really should think of something to do to reward myself for smaller intermediate goals, too. Every five pounds, say, since I'm averaging about five pounds a month. But it's hard for me to think of things that I want that are neither food (let us not reinforce bad habits and associations) nor expensive (like electronic gadgets and professional massages) - and yet are still worthy of being a goal.

I know, I know, I make everything far too complicated.

I started seriously working on Penny's first-year scrapbook yesterday, since I got the pictures back.

I really like how it's turning out, but I've already got a long list of things I need... Some of them are kind of ridiculously basic. Like a ruler, which I could have sworn we had, but I couldn't find one when I went looking last night.

I guess it's time to go shopping!
