Penny woke up once last night, but she went back to sleep on her own before I made it all the way to her room, so that wasn't so bad. And she slept until 6:30 this morning. Y'all keep your fingers crossed for us, that she'll do that through the weekend, okay? I don't know that I have much to talk about, today. Yesterday was nice, but uneventful. Penny was in a good mood, and we got in lots of playing before she went to bed. And she went to bed just a little past 7:30, so I got my two hours to relax. I've downloaded a program called ergonomix - it's available for PC and Mac, both - which sits in the background and pops up occasionally to remind you to take breaks from computing. I've been thinking about knocking out a quickie program to do this for me - my fingers and wrists are often sore by the end of the day - but this one is much nicer than I was thinking of. It's highly customizeable, and if you take breaks on your own accord, it doesn't interrupt you. When it pops up, it suggests various stretches to counter RSI-type injuries, and gives tips on ergonomic work. (And unless you tell it to "enforce" your breaks, you can just ignore it if you're in the middle of something important.) We'll see how it goes. If it's not too intrusive and if it can get me to get up and move around a little more often, I think it would be worth registering, at least at work. I'm not entirely sure about the experiment I'm doing lately in my blog. Well, that's why it's an experiment, I know. But while I really like having the list posted, so I'm a little more accountable, it's a bit annoying to have to log into MT every time I want to scratch something off, or add something to the "Other Things" list. On the other hand, a written list is less likely to make it home with me in the evenings - I don't like carrying my daybook back and forth, and generally just leave it at the office during the week - which means if I switched to a written list, it'd be either kept in my purse, or else it would become an all-work log rather than a work-and-home log. Eh, we'll see. Maybe I'll set up my own to-do application online; something that's faster to log in and out of. Or maybe I'll just make logging into the blog to update it a part of my schedule, and do it 2-3 times a day instead of as soon as I do something. Matt and I aren't doing anything this weekend, if we can possibly help it. Not going anywhere, not doing any major events. We need to recover from last weekend. Of course, we can't really help it. Penny's almost out of diapers and wipes, and I could use a couple of things from Sam's Club, myself, so we'll probably do that. And if we're down that way anyway, then we might drop in on my parents. But we mean to relax, dammit! |
