There's nothing like being just about ready to turn in, and having the baby suddenly wake up and start screaming for no apparent reason.

There's nothing like having to fight the leftover adrenaline in order to get to sleep.

There's nothing like waking up at every tiny twitch or dog barking outside.

There's nothing like the dark of a rainy morning where all you want to do is go back to bed.

There's nothing like the baby screaming when you leave the room to take a shower - and nothing like finding out she's still screaming when the shower's over.

There's nothing like seeing the scale still refusing to budge.

There's nothing like being glared at by senile old ladies as you drive past the nursing home on your way to work.

There's nothing like trying to put the house key into the office lock.

There's nothing like finding a two-inch-thick stack of work on your desk when you turn on the light.

There's nothing like a Monday thinly disguised as a Tuesday.
