The first day back in the office after a break is always unproductive. I spent yesterday sorting through e-mail, printing out schedules for the upcoming year, updating my planner, and other mindless, trivial tasks.

Though I did manage to update the photo album, so it's not like I spent the whole day at the grindstone.

I have actual work to occupy me today, though... Alas. I was hoping for a somewhat slower week this week. I didn't do any writing at all during the holiday week, and I want to try to get some in this week. If I could duplicate my success of the previous week (about 2300 words) then my average over the three weeks would be back up to goal.

Well, we'll see how things go. One of my jobs for this week is the new spreadsheet that has replaced the Spreadsheet of Hate, and the new spreadsheet is... less cluttered with unnecessary crap, but it's also very badly organized. I wind up having to flip between tabs and the accompanying Word document to make sense of it.

And I've got about three audits that need to be written up this week. It would be four, but the people I need for the fourth are on vacation.

So we'll see how much writing I can squeak in, but I don't think it'll be enough.

Oh, and as long as I'm whining - my office is freezing. The thermostat is set on about 80 - but the thermometer below it reads 60. I think something's broken. I've been running my little noisy space heater in my office, so it's a bit warmer in here, but there's a limit to what one little heater can accomplish.

At least I'm wearing a sweater today. Though I might close my office door, just to keep the heat in better.
