January 2005

3  Not really changes I want to make, so much as a gathering of resolve in an attempt to get back on track the plans I've had all along.
6  Penny's tubes are a bright sea-green, it turns out.
7  So much for that new year's resolution, eh?
10  Don't panic, I thought, it might not mean anything.
11  Some of it, she can get back.
12  Except that when I went to make the second CD, I discovered I was in for a bit of a shock.
13  But, alas, I've got things to do.
14  Man, could that possibly have been more boring?
17  I'm going to have to eat some words.
18  On a hunch, I turned the hall light back on.
19  We'll see how it goes. I could be hooked.
20  But I'm feeling pretty good about today.
21  It's no masterwork, but at least you can tell what it's supposed to be.
24  We got Dad a Bill Cosby DVD, but I think he was really satisfied just to get to spend a few hours with Penny.
25  But me, I had a pretty good day.
26  And to make matters worse, I had indeed re-established my hold on the character's personality, and now I'm going to have to re-write significant portions of the chapter I'm working on.
27  ...but since she has no other symptoms at all, the doctor's likely to tell us it just has to run its course. So to speak.
31  Nights like that go in the "Con" column when I'm considering giving Penny a sibling.
Pictures:
- New Year babies.
- Penny likes hibachi.
- She likes yogurt, too.
- Pretty snow.
- Initial, moderately inept attempt at Chinese brush painting.
- My weight-loss chart for 2004.
