Well, the good news is that Penny's feeling much better today - she's no longer leaking goop from her eyes (at least, not in quantity enough to glue her eyes closed while she's sleeping), and her cough isn't as insistent, and her temperature's come down to barely higher than normal.

The bad news is that she's recovered enough to have the energy to let us know how miserable she still feels. She's hungry but doesn't want to eat, and tired but doesn't want to sleep, and bored but too drained to actually do anything. So she pitched a bit of a tantrum this morning. When it was over, all she wanted to do was be cuddled on my lap, clutching her blankie.

Here's hoping she's better for my mom, who was saint enough to come up again to watch her.

As for me, I'm almost caught up with all the stuff I'd planned to do at work this week that didn't get done because Penny turned up sick, so that's pretty good. Though it means I had no time at all to even try to get some writing done. So much for that new year's resolution, eh? Maybe next week things won't be so crazy.

Yeah, right.
