Same weight as yesterday. Guess all the easy water weight's gone. Alas.

Penny came this close to getting her first spanking last night. She came even closer to being put to bed early. I'm trying to keep my patience, especially since daylight savings still has her all turned around, and honestly, I can handle her being whiny or throwing temper tantrums over stupid stuff.

But we've got to do something about her hitting. We were playing with some of the neighborhood kids yesterday, and she wanted to be on the swing - but it was a big-kid swing, and she wouldn't hold onto the ropes, so we took her off - and she pitched a fit, which I expected. And then she hit Matt, and then she hit me.

Argh. We've got to get a strategy together for discipline, and put it in place now, and stick to it. Because whatever we're doing isn't working.

(Also, we've got to get at least one other Elmo DVD, and maybe some Elmo books, because even just the faintest whisper of "Elmo?" is enough to stop a full-on tantrum and send her running for the TV. I am not above bribing her out of a tantrum with a little Elmo, as long as the desire for TV is not what caused the tantrum in the first place - but we only really have the one Elmo DVD that we can use. The other is really designed for kids a couple of years older than Penny.)

Ah, well. At least it's a pretty light week at work. Not too much on my plate, so hopefully I'll get some time to work on my mounting pile of personal projects - editing Willow Bough, which I'm only a third of the way through, and doing some Halling, and reading a growing stack of magazines, and planning my next scrapbook, and...

Like that.
