Penny's teething again. Still. Whatever. Great gods, I can't wait for her to be done with this. (Though she's still got six teeth to go, four of which are molars, so it's going to be a while.)

At any rate, she didn't sleep well last night - despite having only a one-hour nap at school - and she was awake at 5:20 this morning. Poor sleep isn't helping her mood, either, and she got herself another time-out yesterday evening, for hitting me.

Of course, after assuming that she was going to be fussy and wind up being put to bed early, she was then cheerful and charming for the whole rest of the evening, and didn't go to bed until her usual time.

Penny's school is having a "spirit week" of sorts this week. It seems mildly silly to me to have a spirit week for toddlers and preschoolers, but sure, what the heck? Matt and I forgot about yesterday's event, which was Dress-Up Day. Oops.

Today's theme was PJ Day, so Penny didn't have to get dressed this morning. (Though I did put a pair of tights on under her outfit, just because this week's PJs are short, and I didn't want her legs to get too cold.)

Matt said he thinks tomorrow is Silly Hat Day, so we'll probably have to take a pass, as Penny cannot be convinced to wear hats, even though other people wearing hats fascinates her.

Shall I tell you how educational Elmo is for my daughter? This morning, as I was reading to her, she suddenly tucked her hands up into her armpits and started flapping and making little gobble noises. Which is what she's learned of the Chicken Dance so far.

(Matt set the VCR last night, though, so hopefully this evening we'll have an actual Sesame Street episode to show her. Yay, Sesame Street!)

And now, for those of you who are grumbling about a whole entry talking about nothing but the baby:

No, I have not cheated on the diet. I don't know why my weight suddenly jumped up a pound. I'm not happy about it. If it doesn't go down again tomorrow, I'm going to be quite cross.

(There, now you're not nearly so irritable about the baby chat, are you?)
