Yesterday was pretty calm. I watched another disc of Marmalade Boy and talked to Karen about it; I sat on a two hour teleconference to get some training that, as it turns out, doesn't apply to my project; I cancelled my Curves membership; I made shell-less taco salad for dinner; I went out on the deck and played with Matt and Penny for a while; I was tired and went to bed early.

What else...? My weight hasn't budged in three days. I guess I should be grateful it's not going back up anymore, but still! My ssh and ftp connections to confusticate came back late yesterday morning, so I finally updated the photo album. The weather has been gorgeous, but of course it's going to be rainy all weekend.

We played a new Sesame Street DVD for Penny, and when they sang "Row, Row, Row Your Boat," she started making little rowing motions - I guess they do that song at school! This morning, playing in the guest room, she pointed at the cat-puppet's face and said, very clearly, "Nose!" She even articulated both the N and the S, which is kind of unusual for her.

So, on the radio this morning, they were soliciting listeners to call in and discuss this situation: A guy went on vacation and took with him a female friend instead of his girlfriend - and didn't tell the girlfriend about it, and asked his friends who knew not to tell her.

My drive is short, but I heard a call or two. One admitted that it sounded pretty bad, but tried to defend the guy by saying, well, maybe the girlfriend was the sort of person who would flip out over something like that, even if it was perfectly innocent.

To which I thought, why would you want to date someone who would flip out like that? I don't get it.

Even less do I understand the lying. Especially in this situation, where it's going to get back to the girlfriend. Three people can keep a secret if two of them are dead. Sheesh. Keeping it secret makes it sound like you've got something to hide.
